Staffing Changes
There have been a few changes over the past couple of months at the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce. For those who may not have heard, Adelheid Bender, the former Executive Director, has assumed the position of Film Commissioner and Economic Development officer for the Columbia Shuswap Regional District. To fill her place at the Chamber, Thom Tischik has been hired as the new Executive Director. You may recall that Thom was the Tourism Development Coordinator for 3 years prior to recently working with Travel Alberta.

Starting at the beginning of February, Gerry Gardner will take on the responsibility of Tourism Development Coordinator. The Chamber is looking forward to getting Gerry on board and working with everyone.

Highway Visitor Information Centre
Many may have noticed the demise of our highway Visitor Information building due to the restructuring of the Trans Canada Highway intersections. Work is proceeding right now to find a new location for this important part of our tourism plan.

Goals set for 2003
Recently, the Chamber Board of Directors held their annual retreat at Mulvehill Creek Wilderness Inn. Many good ideas came out of that meeting and the Executive Director and the Board will work hard toward the goals set. Everyone is looking forward to a prosperous year for Revelstoke businesses.
