Revelstoke Community Career Centre Closes
Staff and clients were disappointed to see the Career Centre at 315
Mackenzie Avenue close at the end of 2002 after six years of successful
operation. Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) awarded a contract
to Okanagan University College to deliver employment services in
Revelstoke.
In the last six months of
operation there were 271 new case files opened and 224 clients placed in
jobs. This exceeded the HRDC target by 155% and 179% respectively. There
were 10,805 client visits to the Career Centre from July to December
2002.
