In November, the Project issued a
Request for Proposals to suppliers of Steam Turbine Generators and
Biomass Combustor/Boiler Suppliers for provision of the individual
pieces of equipment and/or full Design/Build proposals. It is apparent
that a more sophisticated plant, than was initially planned, is needed
to handle all wood residue generated in the immediate Revelstoke Area as
well as to have the flexibility to take full advantage of fuel with less
than 50% moisture content. This latter advantage would be the generation
of more electricity with obvious financial benefit to the Project.

a long race;
it is many
short races

The result of these
determinations is
that a $13.0M Project has now become
an $18.0M Project. This has set us back
in arranging financing but we are pressing
forward. An application for funding from
the Federal / Provincial / Municipal Infrastructure Program has been
submitted and we await a response. Needless to say there are many other
issues to be dealt with but they are all manageable. Getting secure
financing in place is the critical step at hand.
It is distressing, that with all
the talk of meeting Kyoto commitments, the government does not have
programs in place that will give the kind of substantive support needed
for a project like Revelstoke’s to help meet those commitments.
