Revelstoke Community Career Center Society
New Name for Community Skills Centre—Great Services Remain the Same!

The Board of Directors adopted the new name of the Revelstoke Community Career Center Society on January 1,2002. The new name helps avoid the confusion in the community over the services provided by the agency, and better reflects the principal activity of the organization as a provider of career and employment counseling services.

Career and employment services delivered by the Society have never been in greater demand. Since July 1,2001, there have been over 12,000 client visits to the Career Centre, a record number of visits for the period of time.

Clients initially meet with a counselor who helps them identify their individual service needs. Depending on these needs, clients can access career counseling services to help them determine training or education goals, or clients can make use of numerous services to assist them to find employment as quickly as possible many of the services are now available on-line, and staff at the Career Centre provide support and assistance to help clients make the best use of our electronic resources.

Staff at the Career Centre have assisted over 250 clients to find employment since last July. These services are funded through Human Resources Development Canada, and are free to all Canadians. Drop by the Career Centre at 215 Mackenzie Avenue, or call 837-4473 to make an initial appointment.
