Chamber of Commerce Honors Business Excellence
Academy Awards — October 26, 2002

With the onset of fall we enter into a season of celebrations. The Revelstoke Chamber is kicking off the season with the 2nd Annual Academy Awards. This will be an evening to celebrate successes and to honor those businesses that have stood out from their peers in the past year. This year be sure to have your tickets in advance as we were sold out last year! The evening ceremonies will be held at the Community Center on Saturday the 26th of October, starting at 6:30 pm. We have entertainment extraordinaire, a superb dinner, a very special guest speaker, and of course auction items, the likes of which you will find at no other event! Tickets are $25.00 and are available at the Chamber office or from any Chamber director.

Our Visitor Information Centre on the highway closed early this year due to construction to re-align Highway # 1 and Highway 23N. We are working with the Ministry of Highways to find a new location. As well we are looking at plans for a new and larger building to welcome visitors to our community. We will be working on this over the winter so that we can move into a new building sometime next year.

Don't forget the Santa Claus Parade December 7th at 4:00 pm. The theme once again is lights and music. Contact the Chamber office at 837-5345 to get an entry form. Enter a float for your organization or business and lets make this the best parade ever.

The Chamber is still making presentations to the Provincial Government about the Shelter Bay/ Galena Bay ferry service and continue to monitor issues of interest to our members.
