During the first nine months of 2002, there have been 46 active clients seeking support from the Enterprise Facilitation program. These clients are individuals looking to start a business, existing businesses looking at improvement/ expansion, or persons making other business related inquiries.

Program activities this year have resulted in:

• 2 New Business Openings

• 7 Business Improvements/Expansions

• 3 Jobs Created/Retained

Since the introduction of Enterprise Facilitation in July of 2000, the Enterprise Facilitator has provided guidance and assistance to businesses with the following results:

• 9 New Businesses Opened

• 23 Business Improvements/Expansions

• 27 Jobs Created/Retained

Program objectives continue to be steadfast:

• Provide intensive one-on-one assistance to support entrepreneurs with development or expansion of their businesses.

• Stimulate new business development and the creation of
  new employment opportunities in the community.

• Build the skill and capacity of local businesspersons to
  manage and operate their businesses.
