Small Business Week: Oct. 19 - 25, 2003

It’s time again for the Revelstoke Business Excellence Awards Banquet on October 25th. As usual there’ll be a great dinner, silent auction, awards ceremony and prizes. The band this year is CASUAL SIX who perform a wide variety of 70’s, 80’s & 90’s music. Tickets are now available for only $25.00 per person at the Chamber office. REMEMBER, it’s a great evening to celebrate the year with your co-workers and staff.

Santa Claus Parade
It's time to dust off your reindeer and best elf suit!

Coming up it's the Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, December 6th. Entry forms and parade instructions are available at the Chamber of Commerce office, 204 MacKenzie Avenue.

Tourism Traffic Increases

Revelstoke received an increase of nearly 17,000 visitors at the two Visitor Information Centres (VIC) bringing the total visitors to the two locations to over 40,000 as at the end of September. Over last year, we received a 57% increase in visitor enquiries! The Grizzly Plaza location was incredibly busy and accounted for all of the increased numbers. At the main Chamber VIC visits are down, but only slightly, and we still have three months to go to maintain our visitor statistics for the entire year at that location. It is also encouraging to hear from many businesses that they received an increase in traffic due to the Plaza VIC. Even in September, traffic was strong. The downtown location offered our visitors excellent information and convinced many groups, families and individuals to take advantage of the many attractions and facilities that Revelstoke has to offer. Of course, the goal is to encourage vacationers to stay at least one extra day.
