capital pool of $570,000. This capital pool will continue to grow with
each new gift, generating a perpetual source of income for annual grants
to a wide range of charitable community interests and needs.
The Foundation receives administrative support from the
Revelstoke Credit Union in partnership with the CFDC of Revelstoke.
In the spring of 2003, grants for 16 community projects
totaling $20,975 were announced. In June 2003, twelve scholarships
totaling $4,700 were awarded to graduates of Revelstoke Secondary
School.

scholarship is set up as a $10,000 permanent endowment with the
Revelstoke Community Foundation and will generate an annual scholarship
from investment earnings.

RevNet
The concept of having broadband communication service is
making progress. A local committee interested in development of this
project is working towards completion of a business plan to operate a
community fibre optic communication system. The City of Revelstoke and
the Columbia Shuswap Regional District have approved a financial
contribution to the Columbia Mountain Open Network to partner in the
development of a regional broadband communication system which would in
turn assist with getting Revelstoke serviced with broadband access.
BC Interior Forestry Museum Project
Extra funding from Western Diversification will assist with
development plans for the 30 acre forestry museum site acquired under
Licence of Occupation from the Province of BC. This much needed
permanent site is immediately south of its present location at Columbia
View Park. The concept plan calls for an 11,000 sq.ft. museum building
resembling a 1916 sawmill, complete with millpond and interpretive
forest walk. The site is also large enough to accommodate development of
a campground in the future.
